It is a generalized perception that to be an elegant man, one should hide behind a dark suit with a tie and choke, but the elegance, reality shows, is not only in the clothing, but also the attitude with which we measure the waist.

Never too stiffly, too perfumed, or too structured. Roberto Capucci at age 84, who has recently returned to the headlines, is back to give lessons in style.

At just 26 years old, he was judged the best of Italian fashion designer, particularly appreciated by Christian Dior, who called him publicly in an interview with Vogue “the best creator of Italian fashion”, for the absolute originality of his creations.

In 1958 he created the Line box, a genuine revolution in terms of technical and stylistic variation. This innovative proposal September 17, 1958 in Boston received the Fashion Oscar – Filene’s Young Talent Design Award – as the best fashion designer with Pierre Cardin and James Galanos.

In 1961 he was welcomed enthusiastically by French critics for Paris fashion shows in the calendar of the Chambre de la Mode that led him to open his own atelier in 1962 at no. 4 Rue Cambon in Paris, where he was welcomed among the clamor and enthusiasm, receiving positive reviews from the press and the honor of being the first Italian artist who has been asked to “sign” a product.

Then Rome, Paris, Philadelphia, as his successes avalanched and an unexplained silence that engulfed him.

A new date to mark: this February 25, again from the first ready-to-wear collection from Capucci, will be presented at the Milan Fashion Week. The line will be overseen by Roberto Capucci who opened his archive to the creative team led by Cinzia Minghetti, who has starred in a contemporary spirit and aesthetics of his works.
