The spotlight on this year’s London Fashion Week is made of light and shadow.
The glitz and the success of previous editions has been tarnished by a certain fact: many of the names in the calendar, as stylistically valid, can not make the leap in quality. They chose a public, restricted, true, but the general public knows little to nothing.
The decision to bring the front row is a winning strategy, they know something UNIQUE, such as Topshop, Burberry, and Katrantzou, but these names are already established, with a solid history behind it and collections of quality. So what to do to stand out in a field that is difficult? Rely on the press, national and international, large and small, to do a quirky sectoral job, to ensure that you get to be known where you are not. Make a name outside the usual circle. One can not be a snob early if you want to build a solid reputation.
The collections presented sported a trend already noted during the weeks of men’s fashion: coats will be the big must-have for next season, a must for every look, they will be the master key that makes the difference. Whether calf, worked, of wool, operated, with inlays, colored or totally white, coats will live their season. But you may just die of cold wearing only a simple jacket! Ponchos, parkas, and leather jackets are also valuable allies, as well as clothes, that apart from rare exception, are warm, enveloping, with high collars, and using heavy quality materials.
Fringes and inlays for a style bohemian, boho chic indeed, silhouette members and precious details for a more cosmopolitan and urban. There will be something for all tastes, just know what is his own, confident, however, all of one thing: the cold of the coming season will not scare anyone.
