From March 19 to August 30, 2015 in Turin at Palazzo Chiablese, we can admire 100 works by one of the most sensual and scandalous artists of 900s: Tamara de Lempicka.
Tamara led an unusual life by attending local and abusing drugs, leading a free life and approaching most men and women.
The artist played with fashion and art and admired major artists such as Gide, D’Annunzio and Marinetti, with whom she planned to set fire to the Louvre. The project obviously went awry because the police stopped them in time.
Her art reflected her unordinary life. The innovation and modernity of Lempicka is expressed in the color combinations of warm colors, the sculptural volumes of bodies, and decorative lines of the figures portrayed.
But her training was classical with a rigorous study of Botticelli and Antonello da Messina and later extended to Futurism and Art Deco.
Several controversies have preceded the preparation of this exhibition because the show would be located near the Duomo where pilgrimages are scheduled for the Exposition of the Holy Shroud.
A reconciliation between the sacred and the profane, which resolved with the construction of the section of the route dedicated to devotional, unexpectedly great depth by the artist.
