Lapo Elkann, Italians do it better

Forget the excesses to which we were accustomed, Lapo Edovard Elkann, second son of Margherita Agnelli and the journalist and writer Alain, now has very little of image from -enfant terrible- that had been sewn on by the media.

Elected four times in a row as Best Dressed Man by the magazine Vanity Fair, entering into their Hall Of Fame, which includes also the grandfather and grandmother, Lapo proved undeniably capable as a leader and has a sensational business acumen.

After raising the image of the Fiat (remember sweatshirts with the logo), a scandal sent him into the limelight of the press in 2005 for a drug problem. Until that time, behind the scenes of the Fiat group, he decided to take advantage of the fall to make a change in his career by showing that he could fly alone and founded a new company, Italy Independent.

Its current image, so often associated with the elegance of his grandfather Gianni Agnelli, the lawyer,wants to be an entrepreneur forged by himself by strokes of luck and mistakes.

The look is unmistakable, studied in detail, suggesting his esthete attitude. The shirt is the head of his wild look, is the perfect companion for the first light of dawn. The blazers have lines that are pleasantly retro and avant guard, and give an image of authority. Idea to copy? The jacket resting on the shoulders, an exquisitely retro habit.

When speaking of the young Elkann the focus is on the shoes, always perfect and an interpretation of the whole look.

Among his “whims” was the first Fiat 500 painted with the houndstooth print and delicious technological toys. Tattoos? They are a craze, since he has had 14 and among these there is an Italian flag, the Statue of Liberty, and the Scudetto Juventus.

There has been much attention from gossip about his relationship with actress Martina Stella and his next several flirts, among which include the enduring with distant cousin and socialite Bianca Brandolini d’Adda and Kazakh billionaire Goga Ashkenazi; who is currently paired with the gallery owner and contributor to Vogue Carlotta Loverini Botta.

Despite being a descendant of a distinguished family, Lapo Elkann stands as author of his own success, author of himself 2.0.
