bronzinoUntil April 12 at the Quirinale Palace there will be the exhibition “Giuseppe. Il Principe dei Sogni.”

For the first time in 150 years the wonderful collection of twenty tapestries made by Pontormo and Bronzino, one of which is of Salviati, is on display in the Sala dei Corazzieri and through the use of panels the Salone dei Dugento Florence is reproduced, the original location collection was dismembered by the Savoy in 1882.

The exhibition is sponsored by the Presidency of the Italian Republic, the City of Florence and the Municipality of Milan in collaboration with the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities, Expo 2015 and the Foundation Bracco.

The twenty tapestries, recently restored whose main sponsor was Gucci, with the support of Acea, were commissioned in 1545 by Cosimo I Medici to Pontormo and Bronzino and tell the stories of how the biblical son of Jacob became a slave viceroy of Egypt.
