Set-up: “predisporre le operazioni per il successivo avviamento di un sistema”. Proprio questa è la sfida di SetUp Art Fair, appuntamento indie nella settimana di Artefiera giunto alla terza edizione (in programma dal 23 al 25 gennaio 2015 presso i locali dell’Autostazione di Bologna).

Il progetto, nato nel 2012, ha l’obiettivo di ripensare il sistema dell’arte attraverso nuove proposte, nuovi punti di vista e soprattutto nuovi volti. SetUp Art Fair è infatti una fiera d’arte contemporanea che rivolge l’attenzione agli artisti emergenti, per offrire loro una piattaforma culturale dove trovare visibilità e sviluppare sinergie e relazioni.

Il format innovativo lanciato da SetUp permette di dare risalto alle tre figure chiave del sistema dell’arte contemporanea: l’artista, il curatore-critico, il gallerista. Per partecipare a SetUp, infatti, l’espositore deve presentare un progetto curatoriale candidando almeno un artista under 35, presentato da un testo critico di un curatore under 35.

Il tema dell’edizione 2015 (la terza) è la terra – terra come nutrimento, come spazio da attraversare nell’esperienza del viaggio, come piano di scambio, origine e differenze. Le gallerie presenti saranno 33 e occuperanno 37 spazi espositivi rinnovati per l’occasione. Sono previsti inoltre workshop, premiazioni, incontri con gli artisti, proiezioni e concerti.

In programma anche una sezione dedicata al cibo e al vino, con gli appuntamenti per la Cena del silenzio e Setup critical wine.

Set-up: “prepare operations for the next start of a system.” This is precisely the challenge of SetUp Art Fair, an indie event in the week of Artefiera third edition (scheduled January 23 to 25 at the Autostazione Bologna).

The project, which originally launched in 2012, aims to rethink the art system through new ideas, new perspectives and especially new faces. SetUp Art Fair is in fact a contemporary art fair that turns its attention to emerging artists, to provide a platform where they can find cultural visibility and develop synergies and relationships.

The innovative format launched by SetUp allows for the emphasis of three key figures in the realm of contemporary art: the artist, the curator-critic, and the gallery owner. To participate in SetUp, the exhibitor must submit a curatorial project applying at least one artist under 35, by a critical text of a liquidator under 35.

The theme for 2015 (the third) is the earth– earth as food, as a space to be crossed in the experience of a trip, as the exchange floor, origin and differences. The galleries will present 33 artists and will occupy 37 exhibition spaces renovated for the occasion. There will also be workshops, award ceremonies, meetings with artists, screenings, and concerts.

The program also includes a section dedicated to food and wine, with appointments to the Cena del Silenzion and Setup critical wine.
